Work Hard and Play Hard at the U.S. Air Force Academy

  • Our cadets aren't always studying. When they're not busy with schoolwork or military requirements, there are plenty of fun things to do on and off campus.
  • USAFA's location offers a great mix of outdoor activities as well as a great city life, with Colorado Springs just south of campus.

We work hard but we play.

Some people are in clubs. Some people play instruments. And some people just go down to the hockey rink then crunch ice.

I don't know how they have time for clubs. And yet, they all do.

We play sports. There's a lot of clubs here where you can get involved in.

Once you're 21, they have their own little bar. It's called Hap's. You can have a beer with your friends, play some pool, or watch a game.

In my free time, I like to go snowboarding. I play paintball. I do a lot of skydiving.

It's so nice to have a city right outside of the Academy. There's a mall. I love Colorado Springs. I don't feel like I'm in the middle of nowhere. I still feel like a college student.

We have a lot of squadron dining-outs And that's when the entire squadron --it's kind of like a bonding experience. This is your family. And these are the people that you're going to have fun with and work with and study with. Enjoy all the little things because that is what makes this place great.
